Frances Collinwood
I am the mother of five mostly wonderful children. I am a bit of a realist. They aren't always wonderful but they are always an adventure. I love working with children. I got my secondary education degree and taught for a short time before I chose to stay at home with my children. I love volunteering in the classrooms and getting to know my children and their friends in a classroom environment. I love wonderful, organized teachers. I have an amazing husband who works hard and puts up with one crazy wife. He really is amazing but since I am a realist, he does have a few faults but we're grateful for those because otherwise he might be a superhero and they have awful work hours. We live in the very beautiful state of Washington where the weather is conducive to writing and not much else.
I have always loved to read. My first real memory with reading was when I read Jane Eyre at the age of 9 and my teacher being very impressed with me. I loved the book. Of course I didn't tell my teacher that my mother let me stay up later than any of my siblings to watch the BBC version of the show and that then I wanted to read the book. I just basked in my teacher's praise and have always remembered what a perfect child I was, at one point. I think it's a natural reaction to reading to want to write. You want to be the one to transport others into worlds of make believe. You want to be the one to take them on adventures and help them fall in love and discover new cures and find scary creatures lurking in their backyard like the books you have read. That's what I would love to do. I love to write. Unfortunately, I hate to finish. Finishing is such hard work that involves revision and lots of mental work so I just start new stories. I'm loving these round robin stories because I never really have to finish anything. I hope you enjoy reading them too!
