The Terrible Kite Eating Tree
by April
Kite fliers don’t go to Dill Pick Park
For there’s a tree with grey, green bark
Now this is not your average tree,
No this is the terrible kite eating tree!
Everyone says it is just an oak
But I know that is just a joke
For if, too near, you fly your kite
It will grab and eat it in one bite!
I lost my poodle kite that way,
I was flying it one sunny day
When a gust of wind blew my dear kite,
And the branches pulled it out of sight!
Then to my horror I saw it munch,
My little kite with a terrible crunch!
Then with a smirk upon its trunk
It gobbled it up with a sickening sslshluunk!
The tail was all left of my poodle
And the tree slurped up like a great long noodle!
And that’s not all my kite flying friends
It’s gobbled up others, by the tens!
And when he’s done with his kitey meal
He looks for more I am sad to reveal
Such atrocities can only be
The terrible kite eating tree
So you can go there if you like
But I’m telling you’ll lose your kite!
For there’s a tree with grey, green bark
Now this is not your average tree,
No this is the terrible kite eating tree!
Everyone says it is just an oak
But I know that is just a joke
For if, too near, you fly your kite
